Sto Rates are not available to the general public and are usually part of business-to-business (B2B) arrangements.
Who Qualifies for STO Rates:
Licensed Tour Operators
These are companies that organize and sell travel packages (e.g., TUI, G Adventures).
They often pre-purchase hotel rooms in bulk at a discounted STO rate.
Wholesale Travel Agencies
These agencies act as intermediaries between hotels and retail travel agents.
They get access to STO rates to resell to smaller agencies or use in packages.
Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) (sometimes)
Some OTAs may have special agreements allowing access to STO rates, especially if they operate a B2B division.
Destination Management Companies (DMCs)
Local companies that organize services for groups and individual travelers.
They typically get STO rates to build competitive packages.
Group Travel Organizers
Schools, sports teams, or incentive travel planners working through a registered travel business may qualify, especially for bulk bookings.
Requirements to Get STO Rates:
Must be a registered business in the travel industry.
Must sign a contract with the hotel or property owner.
May need to commit to a minimum number of bookings or room nights.
Often required to market or sell the rooms as part of packages (not as standalone hotel nights).
